Our 50-acre manufacturing campus is headquartered in Calverton, New York, and supported by design and engineering offices in Manhattan, Boston, and Hartford.

Job Summary: As a Sr. Structural Engineer at IEF, you will be accountable for providing advanced technical solutions to meet project performance requirements, while acting as the Engineer in Responsible Charge and/or Engineer of Record.

 

Accountabilities:

·         In conjunction with the Engineering Director, continuously maintain best practices and aid in achieving the yearly strategic direction.

·         Have the knowledge and awareness to ensure structural solutions are practical and result in the success of fabrication, assembly, and installation while maintaining all performance required as defined by local code/law and project specifications.

·         Serve as the point of contact for all matters involving structural engineering, both internal and external

·         Maintain PE/SE licensure in applicable states including completion of PDH/CEU's requirements.

 

Authorities:

·         Lead and/or supervise the assigned team of engineers on a project level. Facilitate employee development throughout all levels of the structural engineering hierarchy. In conjunction with the Engineering Director, participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, employee development, and review process.

·         Organize and lead project meetings as required to provide structural guidance.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

·         B.S Degree in Civil Engineering.

·         10+ years of Curtain Wall/Facade experience.

·         PE License is required. SE License is a plus.

 

Salary Range: $130K - $140K

Location: NYC, East Hartford, CT or Boston, MA

Schedule: Hybrid - Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm

ADA Requirements: The position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods while using a computer, along with sufficient manual dexterity to operate computers, mobile devices, and related IT equipment. The role may occasionally involve lifting or moving equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, as well as bending, crawling, or climbing—such as accessing under desks or server racks. Candidates must possess the ability to concentrate, troubleshoot, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills. The role also demands effective task prioritization, management of multiple simultaneous support requests, and a capacity to quickly learn and adapt to evolving technologies and tools.
