Job Summary: As a Sr. Project Controller at IEF, you will be accountable for supporting financial oversight, forecasting, cost control, and reporting across assigned façade construction projects. This role partners closely with Project Directors, PMs, Procurement, and Finance to ensure accurate financial visibility and disciplined project execution.
Accountabilities:
Track and manage project budgets, commitments, actuals, and forecasts across all phases.
Prepare monthly cost reports, variance analyses, and risk/opportunity assessments
Review and monitor job cost coding, labor hours, subcontractor costs, and change management impact.
Maintain real-time visibility of project cash flow, billing schedules, and revenue recognition.
Support PMs with financial planning, schedule impacts, productivity tracking, and cost-to-complete.
Validate subcontractor invoices, POs, and progress billings for accuracy and alignment to scope.
Collaborate with Procurement on major buys, vendor cost exposure, and alignment to budget.
Track contingency usage, potential change orders, and commercial risks.
Prepare executive-level dashboard reporting for leadership and project teams.
Support audit compliance, documentation standards, and continuous improvement of project controls processes.
Authorities:
· Approve cost transfers, budget adjustments, and job-cost reclassifications within defined thresholds.
· Review and validate project invoices, PCOs, and vendor payments prior to PM/Director approval.
· Enforce financial controls, reporting cadence, and data accuracy requirements for assigned projects.
· Escalate financial risks, forecast deviations, or cost-exposure concerns to the Project Director and Finance leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field …
· 3–7+ years of experience in project controls, cost engineering, project accounting, or financial analysis (construction or manufacturing environment preferred).
· Strong understanding of job-cost accounting, WIP reporting, earned value, and forecasting methodologies.
· Proficiency in Excel and ERP/financial systems (Acumatica, Viewpoint, CMiC, Sage, or similar).
· Ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable insights for project teams.
· Strong communication skills with the ability to partner across Project Management, Procurement, and Finance.
Salary Range: $145,000-$169,000
Location: Hartford, CT
Schedule: Hybrid – Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm

ADA Requirements: The position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods while using a computer, along with sufficient manual dexterity to operate computers, mobile devices, and related IT equipment. The role may occasionally involve lifting or moving equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, as well as bending, crawling, or climbing—such as accessing under desks or server racks. Candidates must possess the ability to concentrate, troubleshoot, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills. The role also demands effective task prioritization, management of multiple simultaneous support requests, and a capacity to quickly learn and adapt to evolving technologies and tools.
