Job Summary: As a Material Coordinator at IEF, you will be accountable for preparing accurate material takeoffs using 2D CAD files, 3D models, and design drawings while ensuring timely material releases aligned with project specifications. This role involves creating and tracking bills of materials, supporting the 3D modeling team, and using Excel to analyze and summarize material quantities. The coordinator must interpret design documents, collaborate with team members to compare quantities, and maintain organized records to support efficient production workflows.
Accountabilities:
Prepare material takeoffs for curtainwall units using 2D CAD, 3D models, PDFs, and Rhino wireframes.
Ensure material releases align with shop drawings, specifications, and production schedules.
Create and track bills of materials (BOMs) and support the 3D modeling team with unit releases.
Develop Excel spreadsheets to calculate, compare, and summarize material quantities.
Interpret and complete takeoffs from partially developed or evolving design documents.
Collaborate with Material Coordinators to facilitate takeoffs and quantity comparisons.
Manage schedules and workload to meet project deadlines efficiently.
Maintain organized records, working drawings, and takeoff summaries.
Authorities:
Determine material quantities, create and track BOMs, and ensure accuracy for production.
Ensure timely material releases align with shop drawings and escalate issues when needed.
Assess design documents, estimate takeoffs, and use Excel to analyze and report material quantities.
Coordinate with internal teams, maintain accurate records, and support process improvements in material tracking.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or associate degree (with relevant experience), in Architectural Design, Construction Management or similar field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Especially Excel). Able to use Excel to create pivot tables and summarize quantities.
Must have working knowledge of AutoCAD.
Salary Range: $71,700-95,500
Location: Hartford, CT. Open to candidates local to our other offices in Calverton, NY, Boston, MA, or NYC. Remote is an option for a highly skilled candidate outside of our office locations.

ADA Requirements: The position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods while using a computer, along with sufficient manual dexterity to operate computers, mobile devices, and related IT equipment. The role may occasionally involve lifting or moving equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, as well as bending, crawling, or climbing—such as accessing under desks or server racks. Candidates must possess the ability to concentrate, troubleshoot, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills. The role also demands effective task prioritization, management of multiple simultaneous support requests, and a capacity to quickly learn and adapt to evolving technologies and tools.
