For more than a decade, Island Exterior Fabricators (IEF) has operated as a privately owned practice specializing in the delivery of bespoke, high-performing prefabricated facade systems. Our 50-acre manufacturing campus is headquartered in Calverton, New York, and supported by design and engineering offices in Manhattan, Boston, and Hartford.

Our organization is fully self-sustained, supported by state-of-the-art equipment and facilities that enable us to deliver a high-quality product. Our production capabilities, installation network, and bonding capacity allow Island to complete large-scale, complex projects in a timely, efficient manner

Accountabilities:

• · Review of project specifications at bid phase to ensure alignment to industry and company standards

  · Become familiar with building codes in project jurisdictions. Plan and educate staff of changes to the energy requirement and their impact to projects

  · Ensure project solutions meet or exceed applicable codes and standards, project specifications, and internal performance criteria

  · Engage with project personnel across disciplines to specify required criteria

  · Organize and lead project meetings as required

  · Review material data sheets and specify project test criteria

  · Participate in continuous improvement efforts. Develop templates and scripts to streamline process and analysis

  · Coordinate with external design team (Architect, Consultant, & General Contractor) to ensure overall U-values align to back stop calculations

  · Review and analyze project details for thermal shock and ensure all materials are within acceptable working temperatures. Coordinate with glass supplier as required

  · Provide acoustic assessment of glazing assemblies and/or overall façade

  · Conduct 3D thermal analysis as required for atypical conditions

Minimum Qualifications:

• · B.S Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

• · 5+ years of Curtain Wall/Facade experience

• · NFRC Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year

• · MS Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Window, Therm, Optics

• · Familiar with Rhino, Grasshopper, Bisco, or Trisco preferred

• · LEED AP BD + C preferred but not required

  Salary Range: Based On Experience
